The armed forces in Eastern Command made elaborate arrangements to conduct aerial fly-pasts, band display, lighting-up ships along the coastline of Bay of Bengal and felicitating doctors at the Command Hospital in Kolkata.
The Eastern Command in Kolkata showered petals on two city hospitals where COVID-19 patients are being treated, showing respect to all the doctors and medical staffs there.

"I will never forget this honour that we were given. It's a never before experience we have got," said a para medical staff at the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital (TGH).
By 10 a.m., the entire staff at the TGH was waiting in front of the hospital for the flypast. Soon came a Sarang Helicopter and it went past them three times showering flowers at them.
Also lined up were 108 Ambulances on the road in front of the TGH.

Expressing the gratitude of the Defence forces to the coronavirus fron-tline 'warriors', an Indian Air Force helicopter showered flower petals over the
state-run Gandhi Hospital here on Sunday.
It was part of the nation-wide thanksgiving effort by the armed forces to honour doctors, paramedics, sanitation staff and other front-line workers battling coronavirus.
At around 10.30 am, the Chetak helicopter hovered over the hospital and showered petals as doctors, nurses, paramedical, sanitation and other staff and police personnel assembled near the premises.
The COVID-19 'warriors' were seen taking videos and photos from their mobile phones while some others clapped. The Gandhi Hospital is among the designated facilities in Telangana for treatment of COVID-19 patients

Frontline fighter aircraft including Su-30MKI, Jaguars and MiG-29s along with the C-130J Super Hercules transport planes will fly over Delhi on Sunday morning to show gratitude of armed forces towards the corona warriors of the country.
A number of choppers of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will carry out petal drop over the Police War Memorial and Delhi hospitals in order to express gratitude and appreciation to the COVID-19 warriors in the country.
"IAF along with sister services is planning to salute these brave warriors of India in its own unique way. The planned flypast of the aircraft of the Indian Air Force is to salute the brave COVID warriors who have been tirelessly and selflessly working during these unprecedented times of coronavirus pandemic," the Defence Ministry said in a statement.
"Fighter aircraft formations, comprising Sukhoi-30 MKI, MiG-29 and Jaguar will be flying over the Rajpath and will orbit over Delhi and will be visible to the residents from rooftops," said the statement.

New Delhi: The armed forces will express their gratitude today to all "corona warriors" by conducting fly-pasts and showering petals on hospitals treating COVID-19 patients and illuminating naval vessels.
The Indian Air Force conducted a fly-past over the scenic Dal lake in Srinajar, Jammu and Kashmir. Two C-130J Super Hercules special operations transport took off from Srinagar and will fly all the way to Kerala's capital Thiruvananthapuram.
These planes would also be carrying medical supplies to be delivered at an airbase.
A number of choppers of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will carry out shower flower petals over the Police War Memorial and Delhi hospitals too. The aerial salute to corona warriors is planned over Delhi between 1000-1030 hrs.

"Fighter aircraft formations, comprising Sukhoi-30 MKI, MiG-29 and Jaguar will be flying over the Rajpath and will orbit over Delhi and will be visible to the residents from rooftops," said the statement.
This flying activity is combined along with the training activity of IAF and opportunity flight for transport aircraft and helicopters, which are involved in moving supplies related to the COVID-19 task.
Similarly, the Navy and Indian Coast Guard (ICG) shall move ships in formations at sea at select locations while Army bands shall visit COVID hospitals and play tunes outside the hospitals in an expression of gratitude to the warriors.
The activities would be in honour of COVID-19 warriors including doctors, sanitation workers, media and policemen, who continue to serve the country amid COVID-19 crisis.
