At present, the Evacuee Property Trust Board (EPTB), a Pakistani government body, takes care of the properties "evacuated" by Sikhs and Hindus after Partition.

In his letter to Khan, G K said the PSGPC should not merely function as an "organ" of the EPTB, but should be an "autonomous" body, with its members "elected" by the Sikhs of Pakistan.

The PSGPC was formed in 1999. Currently, the Pakistani government appoints the president and members of the PSGPC and they are not "elected".

"Our primary issue is that gurdwara properties in Pakistan should not be treated as evacuee and their complete management should be given to an autonomous PSGPC and the properties attached to these gurdwaras should either be registered in the revenue records in the name of Sri Guru Granth Sahib or the PSGPC," G K wrote in his letter to Khan.

The Pakistani government should also clear all the encroachments and possessions from any land owned by gurdwaras or Sikh temples, he said.

Body:There is demand being raised for giving complete independence to Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak committee. Manjit singh Gk, former president of Delhi sikh gurdwara management committee and President of Jag Aasra Guru oat party has sent letter to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran khan through high commission of the country in New Delhi.
In a written communication it is demanded that Evacuee Trust Property Board( ETBP) under which the Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Committee
functions like a rubber stamp should transfer the ownership of huge properties agriculture lands and buildings attached with gurudwara to Sri Guru Granth Sahib who is living guru of sikhs or the PSGPC the body that manages gurudwaras in Pakistan.

in a statement the sikh leader said that Imran Khan has given wings to the aspirations of sikhs community living across the world by opening Kartarpur corridor for which he deserves special place in the hearts of sikh community and hoped that he would show large heartedness to fulfil other demands in line by transferring the gurudwara properties in the name of sri guru granth sahib. ETPB has become citadel of corruption and at that cost the institution of gurudwara is suffering .instead of preserving the properties the board is mixed up with the land mafia who is observing the gurudwara properties. In a letter to Imran khan he said he feels sad over pilgrims coming from across the world who are not allowed to visit some gurdwaras.

He also referred to an agreement on April 8,1950 between then Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru and then Pakistan Prime Minister Liaqat Ali Khan to protect the religious institutions in both countries. The pact known as Nehru Liaqat said that the religious places and properties abonded in both countries would be managed by the boards which would be headed by sikhs or hindus in pakistan and muslims in india .pakistan has violated the agreement also as per the pact it was decided to have six officials and eighteen non official members to be nominated. Out of total eight members are sikhs or hindus while ten members are muslim which is also violation of pact . This is also a violation of Pant Mirza pact hailed in 1955.

mManjit gk revealed that ETPB has 109404 acres of agricultural land and 46499 acres of developed area and in 2017 chief justice of pakistan Milan Saqib Nisar has pointed serious corruption charges in ETPB when he was hearing the case related to the land of attached with temple in Pakistan board of which was then headed by a muslim Asif Hashmi and it was reported that he committing fraud worth crores of rupees of the shrine land fled Pakistan. Ramesh kumar Vanakwani attempted to bring a legislation to make six and hindus as heads of the board managing sikhs and hindu shrines. the legislation was however rejected by a standing committee on religious affairs. For this region gurudwara and mandir lands are misused for commercial purposes on behest of senior board officials. In Dera Ismail Khan hindus and sikhs are facing problem for cremating bodies because the designated land was usurped and the land of Kali Bari temple was sold for opening a luxury hotel. the sikh leaders demanded that the board's managing sikhs and hindu shrines should have members from the same religion who are elected in a democratic process.
