Kerala Youtuber to go before court for abusing women

After the police arrested the YouTuber who went on a misogynistic rant against eminent female personalities in Kerala, he will be produced in court over video conferencing. The police has booked him under the non-bailable sections of the IT Act.

Thiruvananthapuram: Youtuber Vijay P Nair who abused women on social media will be produced before the court over live video conferencing. The city police have slapped non-bailable charges on the man who ranted obscenities against women.

Earlier this day, the police took him to his hotel room near Gandhariyamman temple to collect evidence. Nair had uploaded the video while staying in a lodge. The Police had earlier searched Nair's laptop and phone. The investigation team copied the videos which he had uploaded on the internet.

He was taken into police custody from his house at Kalliyur in Thiruvananthapuram the other day after a group of women led by dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi manhandled him. Meanwhile, another complaint against Vijay P Nair and Shanthivila Dinesh was handed over to the cybercrime police in Thiruvananthapuram.

Nair has removed the video uploaded on YouTube. Police are also considering taking steps to delete his YouTube channel.
