Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has launched a new mobile application in order to reach out to the people and inform everything about COVID-19.
The app named GoK Direct was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday. The link to download the GoK Direct app was published on the official Facebook page of the CM.
The novel app also intends to put an end to the panic that has struck Kerala owing to the spread of the fake news, the CM said.
The app intends to enlighten people on the accurate details regarding COVID-19, its preventive measures, it moreover, informs NRIs reaching Kerala about the present predicament of the state, imparts knowledge to those under quarantine and much more.

The app was designed by the public relations department. All those who are quarantined, isolated in hospitals and homes, travellers, those coming from destinations abroad and the general public will get all the necessary information through the GoK Direct, an official said.
According to the sources, one can also make calls to the Direct Intervention System for Health Awareness (DISHA) directly through the app.
Those who have no internet on their mobile phones would also be informed through simple text messages, informed the CM, through his FB official page.
