Karnataka: No water, power, road in Chitradurga's Jilladagondi village

Development is still a far cry in Jilladagondi village of Chitradurga district. For the last 50 years, the village lacks access to essential amenities like electricity, potable water, road connectivity and healthcare facilities. Chitradurga: Jilladagondi village in Karnataka's Chitradurga district has been deprived of government facilities for the last 50 years. Everything that is called a ‘basic amenity’ in today’s world is lacking here, whether it is clean drinking water or electricity or an access road to the village.

The village belongs to the Molakalmuru Constituency of Health Minister B. Sriramulu and more than 40 families live in the village. Even as the State Government has introduced a number of welfare schemes, these have failed to yield the desired results and benefit the people in the remote pockets of the district.

There are more than 30 children in the village and it is a problem for them to go to school as there is no school in the village.

Children need to trek every day through the narrow roads to reach an Anganwadi centre in neighbouring villages.

The villagers had apparently brought the matter to the notice of the administration however, it didn’t yield the desired result.

After getting the information, Tehsildar has inspected the village and ordered to resolve the problems of the village.
