Koppal (Karnataka): In a novel initiative, a cop from Karnataka has found a rather unusual, but extremely effective way to spread awareness about important issues like traffic safety and cybercrime.
At a time when people are looking at weddings as a status symbol and sending out extravagant invitations, Gangadhar, a constable at Koppal's Kanakagiri police station, is creating awareness on traffic rules, regulations and cybercrime among his relatives and friends while inviting them for his brother Anjaneya's wedding.
While on one side of the wedding card, information about the ceremony and venue is printed, the other side has important information on traffic rules and online frauds listed.
The wedding is to be held on January 26, a special occasion in itself as it is the Republic Day.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Gangadhar has taken up such an initiative.
During his daughter's naming ceremony five years back, he had distributed helmets to bike riders and created awareness on traffic rules.
With road accidents, cybercrime on the rise, Gangadhar's initiative is a small, but solid step towards making people more aware of the key issues.
