Kanpur(Uttar Pradesh): Kanpur Police has filed an FIR against Tablighi Jamaat attendees after a complaint was lodged by Hallet hospital authorities for assaulting the hospital staff. Hospital authorities had accused them of 'inappropriate behaviour' and alleged that the Jamaatis refused to eat food provided by them, prompting them to take legal action.
"At least sixty Jamaatis have tested for the coronavirus and are admitted in the isolation ward", said Dr. Aarti Lalchandani, Principal and Dean of the GSVM Medical College.
Superintendent of Police, Anil Kumar said, "We have registered a complaint against Tablighi Jammat members for misbehaving with the Hallet hospital staff. We are investigating the matter".

"The Jamaat members refused to eat food provided by the hospital authorities and are demanding for non-vegetarian food. They misbehaved with the ward boys by throwing away the food plates and assaulted them," said Dr. Aarti Lalchandani.
She said, "Our team is engaged in providing healthcare services to those admitted here. We are giving them adequate food and water on time but still, they are misbehaving with our medical staff. Despite giving them rice, dal, salad in their meals, they demand non-veg food. It is sad that during lockdown when most of the people are not getting food, they are wasting food".
