Jamalpur (Bihar): Janata Dal (United) leader Jugnu Mandal was shot dead on Friday morning outside his residence in Faridpur town of Bihar's Jamalpur by unidentified miscreants.
45-year-old Mandal, who was the ruling JD(U) ward president, was taking a walk outside his house when he was fired upon.
Upon hearing the gunshots, Mandal's family rushed to the spot and found Mandal lying in a pool of blood.
They then contacted the local police station and rushed Mandal to Jamalpur Primary Health Centre (PHC) where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police are investigating the incident and have refused to comment on it.
It may be mentioned that Mandal had survived a similar attack two years ago.
