Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh): The cattle festival in Chittoor district popularly known as the 'Jallikattu of Andhra Pradesh' was held on Sunday. The cattle festival, a traditional event dating back to over 150 years, saw a large gathering of people amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

As part of the game, a bull is released into a crowd of participants. The winner will be the one who successfully grabs the hump of the bull with both his hands. The contestants, mostly youths, sustain injuries while chasing the racing bulls. The organisers arrange barricades to prevent bull running amok.

Meanwhile, the Chittor district police have asked people, not to participate in cattle festival as the COVID-19 protocols are still in place. The police said charges will be pressed against people found flouting the COVID-1 9protocols.
