Hyderabad: Indian Army on Wednesday released the names of 20 soldiers who lost their lives in the 'violent faceoff' with China in Ladakh's Galwan Valley.
As per reports, the troops fought each other with fists and rocks and after the clash, the two sides "disengaged" from the area where the standoff took place.
While Colonel B Santosh Babu, Commanding Officer of 16 Bihar Regiment, and two other soldiers were killed in action at the Line of Actual Control, the other 17 injured soldiers succumbed to their injures in the sub-freezing temperatures of Ladakh.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held in Ladakh’s capital Leh for the martyrs.

On Wednesday, during his virtual meeting with chief ministers on COVID-19, PM Modi said that India wants peace but is capable of giving a befitting reply if provoked.
"I would like to assure the nation that the sacrifice of our jawans will not be in vain. For us, the unity and sovereignty of the country are the most important," PM Modi added.
It is to be noted that these are the first Indian casualties in a border skirmish with PLA since October 1975 when Chinese troops ambushed an Indian patrol in Arunachal Pradesh's Tulung La sector and shot four soldiers dead.
