Uttar Pradesh/West Bengal: Havaldar Bipul Roy, one of the 20 Indian Army soldiers who died during a violent clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan area of Eastern Ladakh on Monday night, hailed from Bindipara village in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district.
He had, however, been living in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut city along with his family and belonged to the Meerut unit.
The slain jawan had joined the Army in 2003.

His mortal remains will be sent to his ancestral village of Bindipara where his funeral will be held with full state and military honours.
On Tuesday, initial reports suggested that three Indian soldiers - one Commanding Officer and two jawans - were killed in the standoff with Chinese troops in Ladakh's Galwan Valley. Later, however, the Indian Army confirmed that at least 20 Indian Army jawans lost their lives in the same clash.
The incident follows rising tensions, and is the first deadly clash in the border area since 1975.
