Hyderabad (Telangana): The wife and children of Colonel Santosh Babu, the Commanding Officer (CO) of the 16 Bihar regiment, who lost his life during a violent clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan area of Eastern Ladakh on Monday night, arrived at Hyderabad from Delhi on Wednesday.
The martyred officer's family was received by Cyberabad Commissioner of Police (CoP) Sajjanar and Shamshabad Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prakash Reddy along with other officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Santosh Babu hailed from Suryapet district in Telangana and his mortal remains are likely to arrive at Hakimpet Air Force Station by 3.30 pm this afternoon and will be further sent to his hometown in Suryapet by evening.

Meanwhile, the Telangana government is making arrangements for the funeral of the fallen Colonel.
On Tuesday, initial reports suggested that Santosh Babu and two other soldiers were killed in the standoff with Chinese troops in Ladakh's Galwan Valley on Monday night. Later, it was reported that at least 20 Indian Army jawans were killed in the same clash.
