Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Chauri Chaura Centenary Celebrations at Chauri Chaura, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday at 11 AM via video conferencing. 1. PM Modi to inaugurate 'Chauri Chaura' centenary celebrations today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Chauri Chaura Centenary Celebrations at Chauri Chaura, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday at 11 AM via video conferencing. "The day marks 100 years of the 'Chauri Chaura' incident, a landmark event in the country's fight for independence," the release by the Prime Minister's Office stated on Wednesday. Prime Minister will also release a postal stamp dedicated to the Chauri Chaura centenary during the event.

2. President Kovind to visit Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh from February 4 to 7

President Ram Nath Kovind will be visiting Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh from February 4 to 7, according to a release issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday. According to the statement, the President will leave for Bengaluru tomorrow evening. During his visit, the President will be addressing the valedictory function of the undergoing Aero India-21 at the Air Force Station in Bengaluru's Yalehanka.

3. Priyanka Gandhi to visit family of farmer who died in R-Day tractor rally violence

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is scheduled to visit Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district on Thursday to offer her condolences to the family of late Navreet Singh, the farmer who reportedly died in an accident during the Kisan tractor rally here on January 26. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is likely to accompany her on the visit. The Congress Party has been continuously supporting the farmers' movement against the Modi government's new agricultural laws and have demanded their repeal.

4. Aero India 2021: Indian Ocean Region Defence Ministers' conclave to be held today

India will host Indian Ocean Region (IOR) Defence Ministers' Conclave on Thursday on the margins of Aero India 2021, Asia's largest Aero show being held at Bengaluru from February 3 to 5. The broad theme of the conclave will be 'Enhanced Peace, Security and Cooperation in the Indian Ocean', Defence Ministry said in a release. The event will commence with a welcome address by Defence Secretary and addresses by Defence Ministers of different IOR Countries. Defence Rajnath Singh will give the concluding remarks.

5. Haryana Police personnel to get COVID vaccines from today

Personnel of the Haryana Police are all set to receive their COVID-19 shots, in the second phase of the vaccination drive that begins from Thursday. As per a statement, the Director-General of Police Manoj Yadava volunteered to be the first to receive the vaccine and will inaugurate the vaccination drive at Police Headquarter, Sector-6, Panchkula at around 11 am. A spokesperson of the Haryana Police said that the entire police force had worked continuously on the front line when Covid-19 was at its peak, and their efforts had also been consistently recognized at the national level.

6. SSR's friend to be produced before court today

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's friend and assistant director Rishikesh Pawar who was on Tuesday detained for questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will be produced before a court today, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said. The NCB, which has been probing the drugs angle in Sushant's death case, started the investigation after it received official communication from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), in which there were various chats related to drug consumption, procurement, usage, and transportation.

7. DDA to reopen public hearing meetings from Feb 4

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to reopen its public hearing meetings at Vikas Sadan from February 4. In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, DDA had stopped its public meeting process. It stated that the visitors will have to wear masks while visiting the Vikas Sadan. Only people with normal body temperature will be allowed to enter.
