Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the global climate summit on Saturday on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the landmark Paris Climate Agreement.
2. Farmers to block Delhi-Jaipur road today
In a bid to intensify the ongoing protests at Delhi borders, farmers will block the Delhi-Jaipur road on Saturday. While talking to the media on Friday, Bharatiya Kisan Union (Rajewal) [BKU (R)] chief Balbir Rajewal said, "We will block Delhi-Jaipur road on December 12." The farmers' union chief also announced that they will "stage a sit-in protest in front of District Collector offices, houses of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders."
3. Envoyus of EU, Germany, France to visit Kochi on occasion of Paris agreement
The envoys of Germany, the EU and France will undertake a joint visit to Kochi in Kerala on Saturday on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Paris Agreement on climate change. The three envoys will board the water metro (financed by German investment bank KfW) and visit the Cochin Shipyard, where the construction of a 100-seater boat is underway, it added.
4. All Assam Students’ Union to start anti-CAA protest
All Assam Students’ Union (Aasu) announced that it would relaunch its protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act from December 12. North East Students’ Organisation declared that it will observe December 11 as a ‘black day’ across the northeast in protest against the CAA, which was passed by Parliament on the same day last year.
5. 22 cadets from OTA-Gaya to be commissioned as Army officers
As many as 22 cadets from Officer's Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, will be commissioned into the Indian Army on Saturday.
