1. Modi to unveil 'Statue of Peace' today via video conferencing
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil 'Statue of Peace' to mark the 151st birth anniversary celebrations of Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj, today at 12:30 PM via video conferencing. The 151-inch tall statue has been made from Ashtadhatu- 8 metals, with copper being the major constituent, and is being installed at Vijay Vallabh Sadhana Kendra, Jetpura, in Pali, Rajasthan.
2. Religious places in Maharashtra to reopen today
The Maharashtra government said that all religious places in the state will be reopened for devotees from today and wearing of mask will be compulsory. The government headed by chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has urged citizens to follow social distancing and Covid-19 protocols while entering religious places.
3. Sabarimala temple opens, devotees to be allowed from today
The hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa opened on Sunday evening for the annual two-month-long Mandala-Makaravillakku season, adhering to strict COVID- 19 protocol. Devotees would be allowed inside the temple from Monday morning.
4. Jaganmohan Reddy vs judges: SC to hear separate pleas today
The Supreme Court will hear the contempt petitions moved against Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy today. Three petitions were moved against Jagan Mohan Reddy after he wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde making allegations against judges of the Supreme Court and the high court.
