Meanwhile, the Allahabad High Court has announced the closure of the Pragyaraj and Lucknow Benches of the Court from August 12 - 16, 2020. The Karnataka High Court said that it will begin hearing the batch of petitions challenging the winding up of six mutual fund schemes of Franklin Templeton today. 1. Supreme Court to hear Durga suspension issue today

IAS officer Durga Sakthi Nagpal's suspension issue came up today in the Supreme Court which agreed to hear a PIL seeking quashing of all proceedings against her on Monday even as IPS officers joined their IAS colleagues in batting for her.

2. Allahabad HC to remain shut from today till Aug 16

The Allahabad High Court has announced the closure of the Pragyaraj and Lucknow Benches of the Court from August 12 - 16, 2020. The High Court's decision comes in the wake of the rise in the number of coronavirus infections in the cities of Prayagraj and Lucknow. However, urgent matters mentioned between August 12 and 14 would be heard by the Chief Justice at the Prayagraj Bench and a Senior Judge at the Lucknow Bench, the High Court's order intimates. No other Bench would hold any sitting during this period.

3. Karnataka HC to hear pleas of Franklin Templeton today

The Karnataka High Court said that it will begin hearing the batch of petitions challenging the winding up of six mutual fund schemes of Franklin Templeton today.

4. Odisha Cabinet likely to meet virtually today

Odisha Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is likely to meet at 5.30 pm on Wednesday. The Cabinet meeting will be held in virtual mode due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Cabinet Ministers, who are outside Bhubaneswar, have been instructed to join the virtual meeting from the district headquarters.

5. Light to moderate rains likely in Bengaluru today

The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) on Tuesday predicted isolated light to moderate rains over the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike area on Wednesday and Thursday. The KSNDMC predicted widespread moderate to heavy rains at isolated places over Udupi, Uttara Kannada, and Dakshina Kannada districts in the Coastal area, and isolated to scattered light to moderate rains in North Interior Karnataka.
