1. Sushant Rajput death case: SC to hear Rhea Chakraborty's plea today
The Supreme Court will hear Rhea Chakraborty's plea in connection to the FIR filed by Sushant Singh Rajput's father, KK Singh, today. While earlier it was reported that that the hearing will take place on August 18, the apex court has now confirmed that it will hear the case today instead. In her petition, Rhea had said that she fears that she would be unable to get a fair trial if Bihar Police investigates the matter.
2. SC to hear 6 BSP MLAs’ transfer plea today
The Supreme Court will hear a petition by six former legislators of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Rajasthan demanding the transfer of a petition seeking their disqualification from the Rajasthan high court to the apex court today.
3. Gehlot to meet MLAs staying at Jaisalmer hotel today
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot will reach Suryagarh Hotel in Jaisalmer today morning to the MLAs from his camp staying there. He will explain to the MLAs the decision of Congress high command. It is being said that the MLAs who support Ashok Gehlot are angry with the recent decision.
4. Rajasthan BJP legislature party meeting to be held today
While the BJP moved 19 MLAs to Porbandar over the weekend, all its 72 MLAs are expected to attend its legislature party meeting in Jaipur today. The BJP’s national leadership is learnt to have cautioned the state leaders to stay united and asked former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who has maintained a distance from the activities in Jaipur, to ensure that the party’s MLAs remain together.
5. Heavy rainfall to continue in Himachal till Aug 16, orange warning issued for today
