Hyderabad veterinarian's family appears before NHRC for inquiry

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) panel continued its probe on Sunday into the gangrape and murder of the Hyderabad veterinarian. The Committee faced criticism from several sections for asking the late veterinarian's family to come to the Police Academy.

Telangana: The investigative committee of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Sunday interacted with the bereaved family of the Hyderabad veterinarian who was brutally murdered and gang-raped.

However, the team faced criticism from several sections for asking the late veterinarian's family to come to the Police Academy. Residents of the gated community where the family stays staged protests denouncing the NHRC direction.

The family too was reluctant to go initially. Today is the 12th day of her death and the family was observing a ritual. Her mother is said to be unwell, still, the police officials from Cyberabad Commissionerate convinced the family members to present its views before the NHRC.

The NHRC team also collected statements from the families of the four encountered youths Mohammed Arif, Jollu Naveen, Jollu Shiva and Ch Chennakeshavulu.

The apex human rights body in the country had taken cognisance of the encounter killings, saying it was a matter of concern and needed to be investigated carefully.

The team also met the two police officers -- sub-inspector Venkatesh and head constable Aravind Goud at a hospital where they are undergoing treatment.

Father and sister in front of NHRC ...completes half hour enquiry

The NHRC investigation with the father and sister in Hyderabad police academy  has completed. statement on accused encounter was taken from dishas father and sister. during the course of half an hour enquiry many questions were asked by Nhrc. On the day of the brutal murder, and after were also investigated.

Before that...

The parents of the victim disha at Chatanpalli were called from National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The NHRC  asked victims to come for testimony . The police had went victims home in Shamshabad to take disha parents to the State Police Academy.

Family members initially accused the police of harassing them in the name of Enquiry on 10 days ritual. Her mother health was not supporting so they asked the police not to trouble them in the name of enquiry.

colony members were agitated at the residence of disha in protest of the NHRC direction . Pla cards were displayed by natives and then protested. After some persuasion by the police, dishas father along with her younger daughter  went for investigation in a NHRC special vehicle.
