New Delhi: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address more than 50,000 Indian-American at the 'Howdy Modi' event at NRG Stadium, a special delicacy awaits the PM in Houston, Texas.
'Namo Thali,' a special dish prepared by Chef Kiran Verma will be served to the Prime Minister after the mega diaspora event.
Apart from 400 cultural performances, this dish has captured the attention at the Howdy Modi event.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has shared the information on Namo Thali on his Twitter. Pradhan has tweeted that even the culinary arts have not been left untouched with PM fandom.
The dish, dedicated to PM, is prepared by a popular Houston Indian restaurant Kirans run by Odisha born chef Kiran Verma.
Another BJP MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has also mentioned the Namo Thali. Rajyavardhan has written that Chef Kiran Verma in Houston will dedicate Namo Thali to the Prime Minister.
Kiran, the self-taught chef is reportedly famous for her Indian cuisines in Houston.
The roughly three-hour-long event is being organised at the sprawling NRG Football Stadium, one of the largest in the US, which has served as a venue for some of the most impressive events starring Beyonce, Metallica, to name a few.
The event at the NRG Stadium will be followed by a luncheon meeting with elected officials and a community reception at the same venue.
PM Modi will leave for New York the same day. On September 23, he will attend the UN Secretary-General's Climate Action Summit at the UN building.
He has a packed schedule during his week-long visit to the US to attend the UNGA which includes multi-lateral engagements, interaction with the business community, bilateral meetings as also address to the Indian diaspora.
