Union Education Minister honoured by Canada's Hindi Writers Guild

The minister was conferred with the ''Sahitya Gaurav Samman'' in the presence of the Governor through a virtual programme. India's High Commissioner in Canada Ajay Bisaria was also present on the occasion.

Dehradun (Himachal Pradesh): Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' was honoured by the Hindi Writers Guild, Canada for his literary work on Saturday.

Congratulating Nishank on getting the honour, Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya said Nishank had proven his dedication to literature by writing constantly despite being a popular political leader who has served people as an MLA, an MP, a chief minister and now as a Union minister.

She further added that it is very gratifying to see such a rich form of Hindi in Canada through this program. It is very important to make Hindi popular among children and youth.

Mother language has also been given importance in India's new education policy, she added.

After receiving this prestigious honour, Education Minister Dr. Nishank thanked the Hindi Writers Guild, Indians living in Canada and Canada and all Hindi speaking institutions working there.

The minister dedicated his award to the crores of people of India like labourers, farmers, teachers and workers, who are engaged in making new India a global master amidst the hardships, and challenges.

The Union Education Minister said that Mauritius, Fiji, UK and US writers are active on the world stage of Hindi writing, but the way the Hindi writers living in Canada are putting their effort in Hindi Writers Guild is admirable and he is thankful to all the Hindi authors, Hindi Writers Guild, collection editor Shailaja Saxena and Suman Ghai.

"The compilation of them is a pleasant surprise for all of us.

These books really prove that Canada is the land of possibilities for Hindi writing", he mentioned.
