Haryana Assembly Polls 2019: The candidates to watch out for on counting day

Here's a list of the key candidates along with their key constituencies that you might want to look out for as counting begins on Oct 24. The term of the current Haryana Assembly will end on 2 November.

Chandigarh: As the results are all set to be announced for the first set of state Assembly polls after Narendra Modi-led BJP stormed back to power for a second term, here is a look at the top political bigwigs who battled it out in high-profile face-offs in Haryana on October 21.

Haryana voted in a single phase on October 21 to elect the 90 members of the Legislative assembly.

The term of the current Haryana Assembly will end on 2 November.

Haryana Assembly Polls 2019:

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the state witnessed a voter turnout of 67.97 per cent till 6 pm.

The number of polling stations in 2019 has risen by 19.58% as compared to 2014.

Issues like the modification of Article 370, unemployment and farmers’ woes were on the highlights during the campaigns.Some major parties in the fray are Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Janata Jannayak Party (JJP).

On the last day of campaigning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed two rallies in Sirsa and Rewari.

KARNAL:
Manohar Lal Khattar (BJP) vs Tarlochan Singh (INC) vs Tej Bahadur Yadav (JJP)

KAITHAL:
Randeep Singh Surjewala (INC) vs Lila Ram Gujjar (BJP)

ELLENABAD:
Abhay Singh Chautala (INLD) vs Pawan Beniwal

GARHI-SAMPLA-KILOI:
Bhupinder Singh Hooda (INC) vs Satish Kumar Nandal (BJP)

ADAMPUR:
Kuldeep Bishnoi (INC) vs Sonali Singh Phogat (BJP)

DADRI:
Babita Phogat (BJP) vs Nirpender Singh (INC) vs Satpal Sangwan (JJP)

BARODA:
Yogeshwar Dutt (BJP) vs Sri Krishan Hooda (INC)

UCHANA-KALAN:

Dushyant Chautala (JJP) vs Prem Lata (BJP)
