German special envoy on Afghanistan to visit India

Amid efforts for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar announced that India is closely following the developments related to the peace process and reconciliation efforts in Afghanistan.

New Delhi: Reiterating India's commitment in the Afghanistan peace process, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar announced that Germany's special envoy on Afghanistan will be visiting India on Friday.

The MEA spokesperson said, "Tomorrow we will exchange views with a special representative from Germany who is responsible for intra-Afghan dialogue."

Regarding the Afghan peace process, he emphasised India's stand, "We believe that all initiatives and processes must include all sections of the Afghan society including legitimately elected government. Any process should respect the constitutional Legacy and political mandate and should not lead to any ungoverned spaces where terrorist and their proxies can relocate."
