Hathras: In a joint operation with a Special Operations Group team, Uttar Pradesh Police have seized over eight hundred kilograms of ganja and two vehicles carrying it, an official said.
Superintendent of police Vineet Jaiswal told the media here that acting on a tip-off that was received on Thursday, the police and OSG team carried out raids at an under-construction building and found that criminals were trying to hide the ganja.
"Eight hundred and forty kilograms of illegal ganja, worth crores of rupees and two vehicles were recovered from the spot," he said, adding that the criminals involved ran away as it was dark. Police are searching for them and they would be arrested soon.
The police official said a further probe into the case is on.
