Mysuru: With only four days to go for Jamboo Savari (On October 26), the Dasara jumbos are going through the rehearsal. The Gajayana or elephant march practice session starts around 8 am in the morning at the Mysore Palace premises.
Captain Abhimanyu and his team are going through the rigours. Abhimanyu has already practised carrying the 'Wooden Howdah' (Wooden Ambari or Ambari demo) on his back.
Captain Abhimanyu, who will be carrying the Golden Howdah (Ambari) weighing around 750 kg, began his rehearsal. The Dasara elephants which usually go on a walk during the rehearsal were confined to the Palace premises.
The Howdah elephant Abhimanyu has to be physically fit to carry the Golden Howdah with the idol Of Goddess Chamundeshwari in it on the last day of Dasara when Jamboo Savari will be held. The Cavalry and the Police band will be involved in the rehearsal.
The Jamboo Savari rehearsal will be held twice. A 300-metre jumbo riding rehearsal is going on. The Jamboo Savari will be held in a similar manner.
