New Delhi: The Union Government on Saturday named the late union ministers Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and George Fernandez for the nation's prestigious Padma Vibhushan awards 2020.
A media communique of Union Ministry of Home Affairs, President of India has approved conferment of 141 Padma Awards, 7 Padma Vibhushan, 16 Padma Bhushan and 118 Padma Shri Awards.

The union government also awarded Padma Vibushan to Indian woman boxer Mary Kom under the field of sports.
It is further noted Indian Badminton player PV Sindhu was named for Padma Bhushan award. TVS group chairman Venu Srinivasan also selected for the Padma Bhushan under Trade and Industry section.
Certainly, former defence minister and Ex Goa CM Manohar Parikkar was another late leader who will be conferred with Padma Bhushan award.
Bollywood filmmakers Karan Johar, and Ekta Kapoor, actor Kangana Ranaut and Adnan Sami were named for Padma Shri award for their contribution to the field of art.
VK Sampath Kumar and KS Vidhushi Jayalakshmi duo from Karnataka will be conferred with Padma Shri under Literature and Education-Journalism category.

Telangana based Chintala Venkata Reddy was named for Padma Shri for agriculture field. Padma Bhushan will also be given to Krishnammal Jaganathan, a TN based social activist.
It is noted 33 of the awardees are women & 18 Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI and 12 Posthumous awardees.
