New Delhi: While Delhi government made arrangements for food, water and medical facilities for the farmers, as many as 500 agitating farmers with their tractors and trolleys at Sant Nirankari ground at Burari in northwest Delhi were seen on Monday.
After the farmers’ organisations shift to Burari, the agitated farmers found that their arrival at the ground was pointless and would move back to the Singhu border to join farmers gathered there in protest against the three recent farm Bills of the Centre.
Meanwhile, Sardar VM Singh, convenor of the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee, said that confusion has been spread among the farmers that Burari Maidan has been converted into an open prison by the government but this is untrue.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Singh said," The Home Minister had assured that if the farmers' organization comes to the place set by the Delhi Police, they will talk to them, but today more than thirty farmers organization representatives have reached Burari. Despite this, they none from the government came to talk with us."
Speaking on the differences between farmer groups, Singh has said, "The farmer organizations of Punjab should understand that without the support of the farmers of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the government will not bow before them. There may be two different views in this movement, but the goal is one and that is why everyone should work in union."
After two days of the rigorous tussle between farmers and security forces at the Singhu border, the Delhi Police allowed some of the farmers to enter the national capital with the result that the protesters landed at the Burari Ground squatting there and demanding the roll-back of the farm bills.
Meanwhile, most of the farmers are blocking the Delhi Haryana border and some other farmer organizations are also preparing to block the Uttar Pradesh Delhi border.
Farmers 'organizations of Punjab are trying to pressurize the government by stopping all the main highways coming to Delhi, while some farmers' organizations in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Haryana have gathered at Burari Maidan and agreed to carry forward the movement.
In such a situation, however, this movement of farmers does not appear to be moving towards any conclusion.
