External Affairs Minister who is in Niger has Twitted, "deeply distressed by the tragic news of the passing away of 8 Indian tourists in Nepal. Our Embassy in Kathmandu has been closely following the situation. Embassy officials are stationed at the hospital & are providing necessary assistance. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families."

All eight Indian tourists who were found unconscious in Nepal's Makawanpur district resort had been airlifted to Kathmandu earlier today. After their arrival in HAMS hospital, they were pronounced dead.
While speaking to ETV Bharat over the phone, the Nepal embassy spokesperson condoled over the death of eight Indian tourists in a resort in Nepal. The Nepal embassy official also claimed that his government will provide all possible assistance in the repatriation of their remains.
All eight deceased comprising of two couples and four children were part of a group of 15 member group travelling from Kerala to Pokhara. According to Nepal administration, the 15-member group were on their way back home when they decided to stop at Everest Panorama Resort in Daman on Monday.
Sources from Nepal have told ETV Bharat that the 15 member group had reached the resort at 9:30 pm on Monday. They had booked a total of four rooms but eight of them had decided to stay in one room and turned on the gas heater to keep warm. Source also told that all windows and the door of the room were bolted from inside. Nepal police which is probing the matter believes that guests passed out due to lack of ventilation.
