Hyderabad: History seems to be repeating itself in Madhya Pradesh, with the antics of Vijaya Raje Scindia, who had helped topple the then Congress government to make Veer Narayan Singh the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, looking set to be repeated by her grandson Jyotiraditya Scindia.

It is a matter of public memory that Vijaya Raje Scindia had toppled the DP Mishra led-Congress government and established a Jana Sangh government in the state in 1967 to avenge her humiliation.

The parallels are being drawn in the wake of Jyotiraditya Scindia tendering his resignation to the Congress high command followed by the resignations of 16 pro-Scindia MLAs from Madhya Pradesh.

If the resignations are sent to the Speaker and accepted by him, the Kamal Nath-led Congress government in the state will be reduced to a minority.

Fall of DP Mishra government

Vijaya Raje Scindia's rebellion came after she was apparently hurt by a jibe on the Royal family by DP Mishra.

After toppling the DP Mishra-led Congress government, Vijaya Raje Scindia became the Leader of Opposition in the house and Govind Narayan Singh had become the chief minister.

Jyotiraditya destined to follow grandmother's path?

At the time, had Vijaya Raje Scindia formed a coalition with 78 MLA's of Jana Sangh and 32 legislators of the Socialist Party, she could have become the leader of the party in the house.

Today, after five decades, Jyotiraditya seems to be destined to follow the path taken by his grandmother following Kamal Nath's ignorance of Scindia's discontent.
