Delhi HC to hear plea on probe into Jamia violence

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday agreed to hear a PIL seeking setting up of a fact-finding committee to look into the recent violence at Jamia Millia Islamia University during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court will hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on Thursday seeking constitution of a fact-finding committee to probe the incidents of violence at Jamia Millia Islamia during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

The plea also sought medical assistance to those injured in the violence.

The matter was mentioned before a division bench of the court presided by Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice C. Harishankar who agreed to hear the matter on Thursday.
