Delhi comes up with new plan to deal with COVID-19

Policy to contain coronavirus in Delhi has been revised in view of the rapidly growing cases, and under the new plan, strict vigil would be maintained in areas falling under the containment zones.

New Delhi: With the increasing number of coronavirus infected people in the national capital, the central and the state governments along with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and NITI Aayog have prepared a new plan to deal with the contagious disease which has disrupted the whole world.

According to the new plan, the city state would be divided into three parts - areas with containment zones, areas with isolated cases and the areas which have reported no case till date.
The governments and their agencies would work in a coordinated manner to track and contain the spread of the deadly virus in the national capital. In containment zones - the city has 456 - house to house search would be carried out by officials personally and a list of high risk people would be prepared with the focus on elderly people, official sources said, adding that contact tracing would also be done with the help of government designed Aarogya Setu mobile application.

Under the revised plan, the areas with isolated cases would be mapped and contact tracing would be carried out from where cases are being reported for the past 14 days, they said.

Similarly, areas with no reported cases as yet would be handled in a different way. In these areas locals would be asked to maintain vigil on entry of people coming from other areas.

Meanwhile, serological survey would continue in the affected areas and the situation would be assessed again on July 10.
