Delhi belongs to poorvanchalis too; they have contributed for its development: Nitish Kumar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that Delhi belongs to everyone in the country as its the national capital. He, while addressing party workers, said 'poorvanchalis' living in Delhi have contributed in its development immensely.

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar on Wednesday said that 'poorvanchalis' have contributed tremendously in development of the national capital, and "it belongs to them as well".

He attacked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for being indifferent to the community, mentioning his comment made a few weeks ago wherein he had said that people from Bihar would come to Delhi by buying a ticket for rupees five hundred and avail medical facility of rupees five lakh for free."If the poorvanchalis living in Delhi don't work for a day, the city would come to a standstill," he said while addressing his party workers at a training camp here.

Kumar, while reiterating his demand for special status to Bihar, said Delhi should be made a full-fledged state and alcohol must be banned in the city as it has been done in Bihar.

"Delhi belongs to all. People from all states and regions live here," he added.

Kumar said, as has been announced that his party would contest Delhi assembly polls due early next year, decision concerning on how many seats would it fight from and who all would be the candidates for the same, will be taken by the Delhi in charge of the party.

He also inaugurated zonal office of the JD(U) in Delhi.
