Dehradun (Uttarakhand): The district administration of Uttarakhand’s Dehradun is mulling to use disposable bedsheets at the transit camp set up for migrant workers in the state amid coronavirus-induced lockdown.
The move came after ETV Bharat reported on the theft of over 900 bedsheets from the transit camp at Maharana Pratap Sports College in the district.
“We are in the process of procuring disposable bedsheets. We have ordered its samples to see if it is a viable option,” said Ashish Srivastava, District Magistrate.
Elaborating on the benefits of using such bedsheets, Srivastava said, “the idea behind using disposable bedsheet is that it would avoid instances of theft, it is less costly, and it would also help lessen the spread of coronavirus disease as it can only be used once.”
