New Delhi: While terming United States president Donald Trump's two-day visit to India as "harmful" for the country, Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary Dr K Narayana said that his party will register their protest against the visit by waving black flags at the former's convoy and blocking roads at Ahmedabad, Delhi and Agra - the three places Trump is scheduled to visit.

"Trump's visit will harm the country, which is why we do not want to allow him to visit the country and we will hold a protest during his visit to Ahmedabad, Delhi, and across the country. We will wave black flags at his convoy, and prevent his vehicles from passing by blocking the road, " Dr Narayana told ETV Bharat.

Accusing Trump of conspiring to "benefit" US by "selling arms and helicopters" while "reducing imports from India to his country" Dr Narayana said that he will "ruin" the country.

Continuing his tirade against the US president, the senior CPI leader further accused Trump of visiting India to "appease Indian-origin voters" keeping in mind the impending US elections.

Trump will arrive in India on February 24 and will visit Ahmedabad, and Agra followed by a visit to Delhi the next day.

On former Maharashtra MLA and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Waris Pathan's comment on 15 crore Muslims forming a bigger force than the 100 crore in majority at a rally in Karnataka's Gulbarga, Dr Narayana said, "We vehemently condemn such statements. AIMIM is intentionally provoking people. Such statements are harmful to democracy and secularism."
