On Sunday, Amit Shah has been admitted at Medanta hospital in Gurugram after he was found COVID positive. Later, he also urged people, who came in his recent contact, to undergo self-quarantine and conduct testing.
Shah's admission in Medanta hospital has created controversy among several leaders including senior Congress leader Sashi Tharoor questioning why Home Minister opted for a private medical facility for treatment of COVID-19 instead of going to state-run All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS).
AIIMS has also been working as a nodal point for India's fight against coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier in the day, Home Minister Shah also conveyed his greetings on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
On the work front, the Home Ministry has called for expert consultation for reforms in criminal laws. The committee for reforms in criminal laws has developed a web-based mechanism. The committee endeavours to recommend reforms in a principled, effective and efficient manner which ensures the safety and security of the individual, the community and the nation as a whole.
