Ramgarh (Jharkhand): It was a sad scene at the last rites of Jitendra Shaw who allegedly committed suicide in Ramgarh but no one turned out for his funeral out of corona scare. Only Shaw's elder brother and his maternal uncle were present at the funeral.
The kin of the deceased claimed that no one from Nawadih village came forward to help them perform the last rites of Shaw. They said that body was taken to the cremation ground by two family members on a cart where the last rites were performed. Relatives too did not turn up.
It is to be mentioned that Jitendra had returned from a containment zone in Mumbai on June 2. Shaw, who was put up at a quarantine centre in Nawadih village, allegedly committed suicide on Friday and post mortem was conducted at Sadar Hospital.

Family members claimed that neither did villagers co-operate when the body of the deceased was found hanging in the room nor they did they turn up at the funeral. They had to dig the grave by themselves by paying Rs 1500 to the concerned authorities which further delayed the cremation.
"We unloaded the body from the ambulance with the help of the vehicle driver and watchman. Nobody came forward to help us. Villagers had claimed that they would help us but they did not turn up at the funeral," said Ashok, brother of the deceased.
He added, "People are scared of corona and hence they did not turn up at the funeral."
