COVID -19 recovery rate increasing in India

In the last 24 hours, India's COVID-19 recovery rate registered a sharp increase to 61.53 per cent with 16,883 more recovered patients.

New Delhi: India's COVID-19 recovery rate on Wednesday registered a sharp increase to 61.53 per cent with 16,883 more patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

Total recovery number now stands at 4,56,830 with 2,64,944 cases are still active. As many as 2,62,679 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours taking the total testing number to 1,04,73,771.

Meanwhile, continuing its support in containing COVID-19 pandemic, the Union Health Ministry has now involved specialist doctors from AIIMS to provide expert guidance and knowledge support to doctors manning ICUs in state hospitals.

Accordingly, the specialist team of doctors from AIIMS, Delhi shall guide effective clinical management of COVID-19 patients in the ICUs of different state Hospital through video consultation.

"They will handhold the states in the clinical management of COVID-19 patients to reduce the case fatality rate. These teleconsultation sessions for providing timely and expert guidance to the doctors in the state shall be conducted twice every week, on Tuesday and Fridays," officials said.

Started from today, this take consultations session shall extend to 71 hospitals which have bed capacity ranging from 500-1000 on twice a week basis. During the course, a total of 17 states will be covered including Delhi, Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka among others.

Meanwhile, amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic President Ram Nath Kovind accepted credentials from Heads of Misson from New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan.

This was the second time that credential presentation in Rashtrapati Bhawan happened through video conferencing in the wake of COVID-19.
