Delhi
New Delhi: Delhi reports 1,300 new Covid-19 positive cases and 13 deaths today. Total number of cases now at 1,45,427 including 1,30,587 recovered/discharged/migrated cases, 10,729 active cases and 4111 deaths.
According to the health minister Satyendar Jain, the recent rise in Covid-19 cases is due to “patients travelling from outside and getting tested in the national capital.”
"There have been reports that coronavirus cases are increasing in the national capital. Many patients from outside Delhi are getting tested here, hence the rise in the number of cases. There is otherwise a decline in cases here," Jain said.
Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh minister Vishvas Sarang took to Twitter on Sunday to inform that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection. A total of 38,157 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh so far.
Karnataka
Bengaluru: Karnataka health minister B Sriramulu tests positive for Covid-19. On Twitter, he said that he was tested after he got hit by flu and that he's hospitalised at a state-owned hospital in Bengaluru because he has been visiting the state's 30 districts in the wake of pandemic.
Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Another 1543 COVID-19 patients have recovered and are being discharged on Sunday, the Health and Family Welfare Department informed on Twitter. With another 1543 COVID-19 patients recovered today, Odisha’s recovery count now stands at 31784, the H&FW Dept added.
Punjab
Chandigarh: The principal secretary to Punjab Governor V P Singh Badnore has tested positive for COVID-19, an official spokesperson said on Sunday. J M Balamurugan has been home quarantined, the spokesperson said. However, Badnore, who is also the administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, has tested negative for the infection.
Telangana
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is presently conducting 23,000 COVID-19 tests per day and the number would soon be scaled to 40,000, state Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao said on Sunday. "Tests are being carried out in 1,200 plus centres.
