Kuchu: A young man was beaten to death by villagers who allegedly went to meet his partner amid lockdown at Mahua Toli in Jharkhand on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Manoj whose body was found abandoned in the field by the villagers.
Manoj was caught by the locals and was strangled to death after he went to meet his partner in Kuchu near Ormanjhi police station area.
"A month ago villagers had warned Manoj not to come to the village. Last time, locals had tied him to a tree for coming here and he was released. But this time, amid lockdown when Manoj came here, villagers caught him and he was beaten to death," said the officials investigating the matter.

After receiving the information, cops arrived at the spot and started questioning the villagers. The deceased's partner has been taken into custody by the cops and an investigation is underway.
