New Delhi: The Congress party screening committee meeting was held on November 6 in Delhi where the leaders decided about the suitable candidates from all the 81 assembly seats for the forthcoming Jharkhand assembly election.
The screening committee chairman TS Singh Dev has chaired the meeting while, the Jharkhand Congress in-charge RPN Singh and co-in-charge Umang Singhar, Legislature party leader Alamgir Alam, state President Rameshwar Oraon were present.
Meanwhile, they have discussed on the issue of candidates' selection from the names which had been suggested after the state election committee meeting was held in Jharkhand for the forthcoming election.

RPN Singh said, "Who will contest from which seat has been discussed in today's meeting. Besides this, we have discussed on Congress President Sonia Gandhi's suggestion to give the opportunity to the youth and women to contest in the polls."
However, another meeting will be conducted by the screening committee where the final selection of the candidates will take place.
The Central Election Committee will meet under the chairmanship of Congress Working President Sonia Gandhi in which the candidates will be announced.
Singh further said that the good and strong candidates should get a first chance to contest there.
Though, according to the sources, there is a deadlock between Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress over the Assembly seats from Ghatshila, Sisai, Vishrampur, Jagannathpur, Pakur.

The question persists whether Congress and JMM will have an alliance or not.
Sources revealed that Congress wants its senior leaders to contest in Vishrampur, Ghatshila, Sisai, Pakur, Mahagama, Jagannathpur and Gandey assembly seats but JMM is claiming those seats for their candidates.
However, RPN Singh said that efforts have been made towards JMM, Congress, Left parties and RJD fought elections in the Grand Alliance.
He further said that how many parties will be there in the Grand Alliance and who will contest from how many seats will be announced at the appropriate time.
It remains to be seen whether the Congress surrenders in front of JMM or being the oldest party of the country show its impact upon JMM.
If everything goes well then it will be JMM 45, Congress can contest 30, Left 4, RJD 2 seats in the Jharkhand Mahagathbandhan.
