Congress calls Nitish Kumar a 'coward who wants to enjoy power'

The Congress has denounced the JD(U) chief and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying he wants to "enjoy power" hence can't oppose policies of BJP even if they don't go well with his party's ideology .

New Delhi: The Congress on Friday said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is a "coward who wants to enjoy power" and would not oppose the BJP even if his party has different views on many issues of national importance.

"Nitish Kumar has differences on various issues with the BJP but he would not dare to come up with the same as he wants to enjoy the power in collaboration with the latter," Congress national spokesperson Ranjeet Ranjan told ETV Bharat here.

She said the Bihar Chief Minister has had several issues with the BJP but he never raised those as he was always enjoying power.

"He loves his chair," the Congress leader said, adding that the two alliance partners have differences but JD(U) would never raise them.

Talking about the Nation Register of Citizens (NRC), she said the BJP was trying to target people of one particular religion. "There are various issues to be discussed but the government is not bothered about those problems," she said.

The Congress leader also denounced the government for the way in which the NRC was being planned.
