New Delhi: Congress party, on Monday, accused Bhartiya Janata Party of using Sushant Singh Rajput's Death case for its "political motives" in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, saying that this is the "new low" in "new India" of Narendra Modi-led government.

Recently, the Bihar wing of BJP has released posters and stickers with Sushant Singh Rajput's photo, having inscription "Na bhule hain, na bhulne denge" on it. BJP is even planning to soon release a two-episode series on late actor's life.

Speaking over the matter during a press conference, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said, "This is a new low in new India of Bhartiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Since, Bihar is ravaged by floods, reeling under acute misery with government having abdicated its responsibility, Bihar has rampant unemployment with over 4,00,000 vacant posts, people of Bihar have even derth of rashan to eat and opportunities for the youth."

He further added, "The entire Government machinery lies decimated in shambles in Bihar under the BJP rule. Consequently, they are attempting to divert attention by politicising the death of a film star."

Congress even condemned various media sections for focussing only on SSR death case when the GDP of the country has hit a record low and the average number of cases of COVID-19 are increasing day by day.

"Tragically, even the Debate on television media in particular for last month and a half. Instead of issues of Corona, unemployment, economy and of national importance has got relegated to Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty. This is utterly condemnable and reprehensible," stated Surjewala.

While, on the other side, Congress' Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary questioned CBI for taking so much time in investigating the matter, while concerning that the media trial may "dwarf" the judicial trial.

He tweeted, "Mr CBI and his masters, how many days will be required to unearth the mystery of the death of great actor Sushant Singh Rajput, already media trial has been continuing in full swing which even cab dwarf the judicial trial."

"We will certainly expect from premier investigating agency CBI that impartial investigation will be conducting on the sensational death of Sushant Singh Rajput, unmindful of its political implications," the Congress leader added.

As per the latest reports, Bollywood actress, Kangana Ranaut has been granted Y category security by Ministry of Home Affairs after she had loggerheads with Maharashtra Government over past few weeks as she compared Mumbai with Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

When asked about the matter, Surjewala replied, "Unlike Modi Ji and BJP, I will retrench the right of dissent of the biggest critique of mine. That is the principle of the Congress party, NCP and Shiv Sena. In that light, a particular film actress carrying on the agenda of Modi Ji and BJP, we will ensure adequate protection for her."

However, he condemned her statement on Mumbai city, by calling it a "political opportunism" which is being motivated by the Bhartiya Janta Party.

"To describe the business capital of the country as POK is naive, incorrect, political opportunism and reprehensible. We reject such unfounded and politically motivated allegations being heard through a film actress by BJP," Surjewala asserted.

Kangana is facing angry reactions from Maharashtra government, Shiv Sena leaders and even from the state citizens. However, she thanked Home Minister Amit Shah for providing security to her, saying, "This is proof that no fascist forces will be able to suppress nationalist voices."
