Rishikesh (Uttarakhand): CEO of Patanjali Ayurved Limited, Acharya Balkrishna, was admitted to the AIIMS Rishikesh after his health condition deteriorated. He was admitted to the hospital on Friday.

AIIMS Hospital issued a medical bulletin which disclosed that Acharya Balkrishna's condition deteriorated due to the consumption of some suspicious item.

AIIMS Medical Superintendent Brahmaprakash said that Acharya Balkrishna was brought to AIIMS at 4.45 pm.

Balkrishna was admitted in a state of "altered consciousness", a medical condition in which the patient fails to recognise his immediate surroundings. After which he was placed under the supervision of a team of specialist doctors in the Emergency.

"Some tests have been done which show that his vital parameters are normal. A neuro physician and a cardiologist have examined him and he is stable," Brahmaprakash

"However, some reports are still awaited including the ones on enzymes in the bloodstream. He is under the observation of a specialist team. He will be kept at the hospital as of now," he added.

He is a close aide of Ramdev.

Sharing updates on the health of Balkrishna, Ramdev said, "With your wishes and God's grace Acharya is getting better. After eating a 'Prasad' today, he got dizzy and fell unconscious. I am not saying that there was some foul thing in the prasad. He was brought here and tests were conducted and now 80 to 90 per cent, he is fine."

Balkrishna has profound knowledge about Ayurvedic medicines and herbs. He has been helping Baba Ramdev in propagating the traditional Ayurveda system through the Ayurveda centre of Patanjali Yogpeeth. He has also written many books related to Ayurvedic medicine.

In 1995, Balkrishna and Ramdev founded Divya Yoga Pharmacy in Haridwar, and in 2006, they founded Patanjali Ayurved, an FMCG company involved in the manufacturing and trading of FMCG, herbal, and ayurvedic products.
