New Delhi: Larsen & Toubro has emerged as the lowest bidder for the design and construction of 237 km long viaduct of 508 km of upcoming high-speed rail line between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
The financial bids were opened on October 19 in which a total number of three bidders involving seven major infrastructural companies had participated in competitive bidding.
Other bidders who participated in the bidding process were, Afcons Infrastructure Limited- IRCON International Limited- JMC Projects India limited- Consortium and NCC Limited- Tata Project Limited- J Kumar Infra Projects Limited- HSR Consortium.

"Financial bids for the design and construction of 237 km length of the viaduct of 508 km of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor were opened today and Larsen & Toubro Ltd is the lowest bidder," said the official statement of National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited.
According to the sources, the contract is worth Rs 24,985 crore and L&T is set to bag the largest civil contract in the Bullet train project.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, Sushma Gaur spokesperson of NHSRCL said that after the bidding process, all the required documents will be evaluated after which Letter of Award (LoA) will be issued for the project.
This tender covers about 47% of total alignment of 508 km, between Vapi (Maharashtra) and Vadodara (Gujarat). This will include four stations namely Vapi, Billimora, Surat and Bharuch and Surat Depot.
