Bengaluru: Uttara Kannada MP Anant Kumar Hegde on Wednesday made a controversial statement over BSNL employees saying "the employees are anti-nationals, soon the organisation will shut down."
His statement comes amidst reports of poor network connectivity, internet issues etc. from across the district.
While delivering a speech in Kumta, Hegde said, "The organization of BSNL is filled with anti-nationals. It was controlled by the government before but in the future, it will be in the hands of the private sector."
Our Government has tried much to safeguard BSNL, but we will not be able to do so for long as anti-nationals are working in the organisation, he added.
"The organisation is filled with anti-nationals. These employees are not working even as the government gives them money, technology and other facilities," Hegde said.
Already, 85,000 officers have been sent home, and more employees will return home in the next few days, Hegde added.
Hegde further alleged that BSNL employees are not working despite all the amenities.
Both Air India and BSNL have joined hands to not cooperate with the government. This situation exists because of the anti-national mindset of the employees, Hegde claimed.
