New Delhi: Senior Congress Udit Raj has taken a dig at RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat after his statement on reservations at the Gyan Utsav held in the state. He alleged that Bhagwat's statement on reservations is just the fulfilment of an agenda.
Speaking to ETV Bharat Congress leader said, "It is not the first time that this is not the first time that Bhagwat has given such a statement on reservations. He had also given a statement during the Bihar elections."
Raj went on to say: "The party had burnt Ambedkar's effigy in 1948 while disrespecting the Constitution". It had also protested against reservation to backward classes in educational institutions in 2006. All these moves clearly signify that BJP is an anti-Dalit party."
Taking another dig at the RSS chief, the Congress party leader said, "This government is anti-Dalit and wants to change the Constitution written by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar."
Udit Raj added, "The Modi government is trying to distract the citizens from the basic issues of the country. Bhagwat's statement on reservations is a conspiracy of the BJP, it has been anti-Dalit since the very beginning."
In a press conference organised by the Congress Party, the senior leader had said: "The RSS chief aims to make the different sections of the society fight with each other. He is trying to spread hatred through his speeches."
