New Delhi: BJP concluded its nationwide campaign 'Jan Jagran Abhiyan' (public awareness campaign) on Tuesday at the party's headquarters in Delhi. While addressing a press conference here, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat claimed that the public gave unprecedented support during the campaign and people also thanked and appreciated PM Modi's bold decision.
The 'Jan Jagran Abhiyan' was launched by the BJP in favour of the reorganisation of the Article 370 of the Constitution. Under it, the party has decided to organise 370 small indoor meetings and 35 big meetings across the country, including six in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Our target was to conduct 35 meetings from which only 34 took place as one meeting which was organized in Imphal cancelled due to bad weather. A total of 600 exhibition events were organized at the district level to aware people of the importance of reorganization of Article 370. Video clips were shown to the public during these events which were also appreciated by them," said Shekhawat.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan who was also present at the event said that the program was started by the Home Minister Amit Shah. At least 2000 special contact campaign program was organized. Under this special contact campaign, all the party leaders met more than five lakh people.
This campaign was started on September 2 and concluded on September 30.
