Nalanda: In view of coronavirus pandemic, a total of 40 days lockdown has been imposed across the country.
In such a situation, winning against coronavirus has become a big challenge for the Central government and State government.
Talking about Bihar, Nalanda's health department swung into action when six coronavirus cases sprung up.
The state government started running doorstep screening, spreading awareness about the pandemic just like the polio campaign.
Around 1459 teams- consisting of doctors, Anganwadi and Asha workers- have been engaged in the exercise in Nalanda, Begusarai, Nawada and Siwan districts. Their work is to collect door to door information about all the people of the district, hence, tracking as well as tracing, the symptomatic coronavirus patients.
These teams then send their reports to their respective supervisors (543) every day in the evening. District Immunization Officer, District Health Committee and Civil Surgeon also go through the reports before sending them to the District Magistrate.
Bihar government hopes that after completing this survey, it will have a complete database of coronavirus patients, on the basis of which necessary action plan will be prepared.
Meanwhile, efforts made in Nalanda to fight against coronavirus are proving to be very effective and is being praised all across the nation.
