New Delhi: Criticising the speech of Prime Minister Narendra in Rajya Sabha, where he spoke about India's democracy, Congress senior leader and treasurer Pawan Kumar Bansal, on Monday, said that the entire country is currently witnessing BJP's 'propaganda' based on 'falsehood'.
PM Modi was addressing the Upper House during his response to the motion of thanks to President Ram Nath Kovind's address, where he slammed the opposition parties for raising questions over the country's democracy. He said that India's nationalism is based on 'Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram'.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, Congress leader Bansal said, "That was what it was based on. But what we see today is unleashing of propaganda based entirely on falsehood. It is the 'Satya' (truth) that has been the greatest casualty of this Government in the last 7 years. That further follows with the onslaught of democracy, constitution and all the constitutional institutions."
In another attack to the opposition leaders, PM also coined a new term 'aandolanjeevi' while mentioning about the ongoing farmers' protests.
He said, "There is a new crop of 'aandolanjeevi'. They live for aandolan (protests). They look for ways to start new aandolan. The country needs to be aware of these aadnolanjeevis."
When asked about the matter, the Congress leader said, "In his view, all the farmers who are protesting all across the country are also anti-nationals? Does he wants the countrymen to be aware of them?"
"On one side, they are calling them for discussions, and on the other hand, this is the terminology which has been used against them? This is something which is also far-far away from the truth," he further added.
Bansal, along with Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera and Rohan Gupta, launched a nationwide social media campaign 'Save Democracy, Save India' aiming to have five lakh 'social media warriors' to counter BJP's IT Cell.
"This is to prepare a team of 5 lakhs people who will work as the warriors of the social media department. We will raise our voice against the issues confronting the nation, the concerted efforts being made to annihilate the democracy, to trample upon the democratic rights of the people, one word against the Government made certain people anti-national, and the environment which is being created by the current government in the entire country," Pawan Bansal said.
