Bhuntar airport officials develop low-cost sanitiser machine from junk

Bhuntar airport authorities have developed a machine using junk material which can sanitise the entire airport premises in just two hours. The sanitiser machine, which usually costs around Rs. 1 lakh, has been developed by three officials using junk material lying around the airport at a cost of Rs. 1,000.

Kullu (Himachal Pradesh): With the threat of coronavirus infection looming large amid the resumption of domestic flight operations, Bhuntar airport authorities have developed a sanitiser machine using junk materials which can sanitise the entire airport premises in just two hours.

The sanitiser machine, which usually costs around Rs. 1 lakh, has been developed by three officials at a cost of Rs. 1,000 using junk lying around the airport building.

The brains behind the machine, R P Srivastava, who works as a security officer at the airport, said that it took a lot of effort to build this machine.

The sanitiser machine is a portable one and has a capacity of holding 100 litres of sanitiser.

It can spray the sanitiser as high as 25 feet.

Domestic passenger flight services resumed operations on Monday after nearly two months of lockdown imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus.
