New Delhi: Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi, on Saturday, attacked Modi Government alleging that anti-national and anti-poor forces are spreading venom of hatred and violence in the country. She also said that the influence of dictatorship is rising in the country, dominating over democracy.
Gandhi sent a recorded video message for the foundation ceremony of new Chhattisgarh Assembly building, which is to be built in Nava Raipur. Chhatisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and other ministers were present at the meeting.
"For the past some time, an attempt is being made to derail our country. New challenges have come before our democracy. Today, the country stands at crossroads. Anti-poor and anti-national forces and those who rule by making people fight against each other, are spreading venom of hatred and violence in the country," said Sonia Gandhi.
The Congress party chief made an indirect attack on the ruling party, without naming anyone in her video message, saying that they want to suppress the voice of people of this country by raising the influence of 'tanashahi' over 'lokshahi'.

She further added, "Bad thinking is dominating good thinking, freedom of expression is in danger and democratic institutions are being ruined. They want people of the country, youth, tribals, women, farmers, traders, jawans to keep their mouths shut."
While mentioning that two years later, India will complete 75 years of Independence, Gandhi alleged that our ancestors would have never imagined that their country will have to face such a situation in future where our Constitution and democracy will be in danger.
Gandhi also asserted that the Constitution cannot be saved by these newly built buildings, but by emotions.
"We should take a pledge that till the time we are in power, we will take a decision keeping in mind the interest of people standing at the end of the queue," she stated.
